FAN Scholarships

Each year Fan awards up to four Lois Widley Scholarships to two undergraduate students and two graduate students. These scholarships cover the cost of registration to the annual IntNSA Educational Conference. Supporting students’ attendance at the professional conference on addictions broadens their understanding of addictions and highlights the importance of networking with other nursing professionals involved in a variety of practice settings, all with an interest in addictions and addictions nursing. Student involvement encourages the cultivation of future new leaders, clinicians, researchers, and educators, who will continue the creation of new knowledge in addictions nursing.

In addition, FAN also awards one Cathy Buffington Memorial Scholarship which covers the cost of registration to the annual IntNSA Educational Conference. This scholarship is awarded to a nurse in clinical practice who is not a student, and would not be able to attend the conference if not for the scholarship.

Applications for all five scholarships must be in by June 1, 2010 and winners will be notified by July 1.
