The Association for Leadership Science in Nursing (ALSN) has identified the need to develop guidelines/criteria to guide the development, implementation, evaluation and review or accreditation of Nursing Leadership Graduate Specialty programs in the U.S. In using the guidelines/criteria to evaluate Nursing Leadership Specialty Master’s, Practice Doctorate, and Post-Graduate Certificate Educational Programs, they will serve as an adjunct to existing national accreditation standards. It is also expected that these guidelines/criteria may be used to guide the development of new Nursing Leadership Graduate Specialty programs and to conduct self-evaluation of new and existing programs.
