Description
This presentation will provide the learner with an in-depth review of drug trends evolving within substance use demographics and provide the learner an opportunity to gain insight into the evolution of drugs, their addictive and dependent nature, and the associated withdrawal syndromes.
Learner Objectives
The learner will understand the general neurobiology of addiction and dependency to alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, and stimulants. The learner will understand the evolution of drugs and trends within the United States of America. The learner will understand the associated signs and symptoms of intoxication and withdrawal syndromes of alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, and stimulants. The learner will differentiate intoxication versus withdrawal among demographics of substance use.
