Description

A presentation of commonly abused substances during pregnancy and the short and long-term impact impact on children. Treatment recommendations will also be provided. Learner Objectives Discuss common substances that lead to in utero exposure. Use the provided information to improve patient assessment. Formulate an appropriate treatment plan based on the assessment. Presenter David L Mischel DNP, APNP, PMHNP, CARN-AP, FIAAN; Eau Claire, Wisconsin Dr. Mischel is a Nurse Practitioner who works at a Critical Access Hospital in rural northern Wisconsin, USA. Dr. Mischel’s area of focus is serving two patient populations: Children and Adolescents impacted by Substance Use Disorders and members of the LGBTQ community. Working in a rural setting, these populations often overlap as Dr. Mischel works with families where substance use has impacted multiple generations in the family grouping. Nursing CE This event is approved for Nursing CE with the California Board of Nursing until 16-December-2025
