Our story
The Minnesota & Western Wisconsin IntNSA chapter was established in July 2015.
We consist of primarily RNs and APRNs working in or with Substance Use Disorder Treatment facilities.
We represent areas all over the state by offering attendance via video conference.
Areas of influence are rural and urban, diverse populations across multiple socioecomomic classes.

Miya Lindh
PRESIDENT
Miya is a Registered Nurse with five years of experience in chemical dependency and mental health nursing. She is currently working in Nurse Leadership as the Executive Director of Nursing at North Star Behavioural Health, a licensed residential treatment facility. Miya’s focus is on implementation of client centred care using Evidence Based Practice to insure best practices. She is an active member of International Nurses Society on Addictions and is currently studying for her BSN in Nursing through Bemidji State University. Prior to her nursing career, Miya spent over ten years in marketing and customer service.

Michelle Murphy
Vice President/Treasurer
Michelle is an Advanced Practice nurse, board certified as both a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and as a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner. She has worked as a psychiatric nurse practitioner in inpatient, outpatient, and residential treatment settings for treatment of Substance Abuse. Michelle sees patients in her own private practice serving the Twin Cities Metro Area and treats patients with a variety of mental health conditions and Substance Use disorders. Michelle earned her Bachelor of Arts in Nursing from Saint Olaf College and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Minnesota.

Katie Pylkas-Blue
Secretary
Katie Pylkas-Blue, RN MSN is the owner and Treatment Director of Sage Prairie, a licensed Substance Use Disorder Outpatient Treatment Facility. Katie is a nurse specializing in addiction nursing with over 10 years of experience as a nurse helping those who suffer addiction and other chronic disorders. Katie is an active member of the Minnesota International Nurses Society on Addictions. She is a recovery coach through the Minnesota Recovery Connection. Katie received her Master of Nursing Degree in Health Systems Leadership at Gonzaga University.
